Again, warning, without reading Snow Fall, this will make very little sense. Erm, there's male/male relationships and while I probably won't write any sex into it, it does happen. Just in case anyone didn't know I write that.

Also, some knowledge of Norse and Vedic mythos might help, but I don't *think* it's required to get the gist of things.

I'm doing 40 hours this week, the other new girl got herself gloriously fired after a week and a half by deciding not to show up for work. So I got her shifts. Also, I'm interveiwing for a second part time job tomorrow. More work, more money, less time to sneak net on the benned compy's. I miss you all!

Don't let me fool you...

Yo! I got lost on the road of life...

Actually I've been banned from the home desk tops and until I get a new laptop I won't be on much. Also, I'm moving everything over to InsaneJournal because well, LJ has turned to suckage. See ya when I see ya!

So, this morning I was hitting all the local hotles seeing if any were hiring and passing out my resume even if they weren't.

I reached the R* by the M* (names not-disclosed to protect me) where they were indeed hiring and if I was fast in filling out this application I could get an interveiw right now. I filled the sucker out and sat down to a twenty minute interveiw with the assistant manager.

Then I sat down to a twenty minute interveiw with the manager.

They still had some people to look over, they didn't want to get my hopes up and by the way it's part time but you can pick up some extra hours cross-training with the kitchen. I go home, eat, check email, go grocery shopping with mom and get locked out of the car, come home to a blinking light on the answering machine.

I call the R* back, they want me to come in at ten tomorrow and sign some papers, and I can start next week at a dollar and fifty cents more than I left my old place for.

Today officially rocks.

hmm?

Return from so called civilization

Posted on 2007.07.18 at 20:52
I'm home. Driving in San Fran is not for tourists.

Day one: We were late getting out, found out an hour and a half out I'd forgotten my purse (we did not go back for it) had the AC die outside of Medford Ashland and cracked the windshield outside of Sacramento. We got to Persidio, only to find out that our reservations were for the Persidio in Monterrey, another two hours out. This was Dad's fault and he takes full responsibility. We found a very cheap (ratty) hotel in San Mateo.

Day two: We woke up late, headed out after noon and got to the courthouse only to find we needed to go across the street and wait (we were there for my father's birth certificate). Mom and I found Starbucks, a lot of bums, and what passed for a well concealed and attractive public toilet. We then headed out and found Chinatown, passing by it around thirty miles an hour. After getting lost a lot and cursing the city soundly, we got to Fisherman's wharf, spent a lot of money on food and saw Pier 39. We got lost some more looking for the Japanese Tea Gardens, found the city Rose Garden, and returned to the hotel to pass out.

Day three: Woke up late again, headed out and found Chinatown, wandered it a bit after cursing parking, bought hats, went to the wharf for food and the ship museum, cursed parking, saw Ghirardelli square and bought chocolate, got Dad's passport photos taken, wandered and finally made it to the Japanese Gardens only to find out they were closed. We managed to find very good Indian food and passed out.

Day four: On the road again, stopped by a family friend's to see how she was doing and found out she didn't remember us for a few minutes because she'd been kicked by one of her horses (she's a large animal vet) and suffered a scull fracture, fracture of the neck vertebra and a shattered jaw six months ago leading to almost two weeks of amnesia, two weeks of brutal honesty and a long recovery. She now has dyslexia but can still practice as all her medical knowledge came back, though some events and people didn't.

Now I'm home. Through the whole trip my parents snapped and fought, I kept quiet in the backseat and we tried to manage on yet another family adventure. mom knew where we were going, had pads I forgot to pack, knew where to find everything and generally kept us alive. Let us hope we never have to do it again.

hmm?

Holding on.

Zoro was a swordsman. he was also a pirate, and before that a bounty hunter, and before that a wanderer, but through out his life he'd mostly been a swordsman, and for all the superstitions a pirate had to his name, a swordsman had his own set.

Good points in life: Might be getting a job as a leasing assistant.

Bad points in life: Laptop motherboard fried and I'm broke/unemployed. Also, I'll be out of town from Sunday to Wednesday, if you need me call my cell, I'm in San Fransisco.

Because of the lack of laptop, there shall be a lack of internet and writing. Oh, I'll be writing, but it will be on paper, so there shall be a lack of writing for you to read. Not that I've been updating much anyway so what difference does it make right? A lot. To me.

I will have a laptop at the very least ordered by the end of the month, otherwise I will go completely batshit psycho and possibly re-inact some of Ted Bundy's not-so-great moments.

QotD: The burning plastic smell mom? Oh, that was my life, telling me I suck much ass.

Okay, yes, this Verse is still kicking, and *hard*, but I have a lot on my plate. For instance? I wrote all this at work, on my first day. Temp job, and they didn't have a lot for me to do. >> I like it here really. Anyway, on with the show, Ifalna and the filling in of plot holes.

Strikes again. Oh man I hurt. Another case of my klutzyness has lead to my arm looking like road rash, my insurance will *not* cover my previous hospital bills so I may be changing providers because I won't have coverage till September otherwise, and uh, I have an interview for a longterm temp job on Monday. Pray for me people, I need the income to cover the bills my ass has accrued by attending the fine institutes of learning our society deems necessary torture for us to acquire knowledge of practically nothing.

As for the Fourth? There shall be no fireworks, but I have beer.

QotD: Life is 10% how you make it and 90% how you take it.
